2005 Reunion
Descendants of 38th Alabama soldiers gathered in Grove Hill, Alabama, April 1-3, 2005. Harriet Ketchum, a great-granddaughter of the unit's commander, Col. C.T. Ketchum, came all the way from West Texas for this event.
Ladies (some in period costumes) and men (some wearing uniforms) enjoyed a camp supper of cornbread, stew, and beans. Music, dancing, an 1860's fashion show, and flag presentations were highlights of the gathering.
Sponsored by the Clarke County Historical Society and the Private James C. Anderson Camp No. 1489, Sons of Confederate Veterans, the weekend activities ended with a Confederate Memorial Service at Old Grove Hill Cemetery.
Setting of the historical presentations (below) is the Grove Hill United Methodist Church.
