Ceremonies today to honor the dead

Today, we still honor the dead with gravesite ceremonies.  This gravesite ceremony was held at the burial site of Howard Covington Davis, a private in Company D from Clarke County Alabama.  He was promoted to corporal.  Although he resigned November 11, 1862 due to poor health, he lived until January 28, 1934.  His final resting place is in Kennedy Cemetery in the town of Chance in Clarke County.

Another ceremony was held at the gravesite of Private Rarden A. Tharp, Company D, who is buried in Amity Baptist Church Cemetery also in Clarke County.
